Police say three men gunned down an Alton teenager last weekend, and one of the suspects was once labeled a good samaritan.
Just a couple of months ago when you heard the name Bradley Everage, it was because of his good deeds.

The 18-year-old made news across the country in April when he punched out a man trying to rob a McDonald’s on Broadway Street in Alton.

The whole scene was caught on a surveillance camera.

Now Everage’s name is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Police say Everage and his two friends are responsible for shooting and killing Scott Garner, 17.

Investigators say the three suspects didn’t know Garner nor did they have an argument with the teen.

Chief Chris Sullivan says, “There is no apparent motive.”

Police say Nathaniel Fleming pulled the trigger, and Reginald Stegall drove the getaway car.

Everage reportedly went along for the ride.

Residents in this neighborhood tell News 4 that Everage was in an SUV that circled the block multiple times before the shooting.

Judy Miller lives across the street from the shooting, and says Garner and her son were together when the shots were fired.

Miller says they still have no idea what led to Garner’s death.

All three suspects are being held at the county jail.

They are currently being charged with first-degree murder.
