A 22-year-old man from the Metro East is facing sexual assault and drug charges, after he is caught with a local teenager in Texas.

Warren Harbison of Madison County is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of marijuana.

Authorities in Texas say more charges could be filed.

When police spotted him near Amarillo Monday night, he was with the 13-year-old from Edwardsville.

Her parents are in Texas now to reunite with their daughter.

Harbison is in police custody.

(KMOV) - After several days a set of Metro East parents now know where their teenage daughter is this morning.

The 13-year-old was found in Texas after she is believed to have run away with a 22-year-old man.

When News 4 spoke to Kaylee’s parents late last night, they were making plans to head to Texas and could well be on their way there now for a reunion with their daughter.

The 8th grader was found yesterday evening near Amarillo.  Potter county investigators still aren’t saying why the 13 year old took off early Saturday morning from her home in Edwardsville.  But Kaylee’s parents believe it was to meet 22-year-old Warren Harbison of Madison County.

The couple had been spotted by a police officer in a parked car not far from a Texas truck stop.  Harbison is now in police custody and facing criminal charges in connection with the pair’s disappearance.

It’s still unclear where the duo was heading and whether Kaylee might have been a misguided teen or whether there was something more sinister going on.

They were found almost 800 miles from home.*****Previous story*****

(KMOV) - There’s still no sign of a Metro East teenager police believe may have ran off with a 22-year-old man.

Kaylee Stimson, 13, was last seen Friday night.  The Edwardsville teenager has her father’s cell phone. Police say the last call placed on that phone was to Warren Harbison, 22, of Madison County.

Police are looking for Harbison’s car with Illinois license plate G43-6788.

It’s a 1989 gold 4-door Honda Accord. It has primer spots and red tape on one taillight.

Car description of man believed to be with Kaylee Stimson

According to friends and family, she met the man at a quick lube shop where he works in Edwardsville which is near where Kaylee lives.

The 13-year-old’s parents say she had recently posted a profile on the My Space web site.

Her parents made her take it down but believe she might have put another one up.

They know she snuck out of the house around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, possibly through a basement window.

Police say the last call made on the cell phone she was carrying was to Warren Harbison.

He was last seen leaving a Bellfontaine Neighbors Super 8 Motel Saturday morning

Kaylee’s parents are now trying to get a description of their daughter to the public.

Kaylee Stimson is five feet tall, with brown hair, and was last seen wearing jeans, a gray sweatshirt and black flip-flops.

Her mom says she didn’t take her purse.

Police say they have also contacted authorities in Mississippi where Harbison has family.

His family is reportedly just as concerned as the Stimsons, and is cooperating with the police and Kaylee’s parents to try to bring the pair home.

No Amber Alert has been issued for Kaylee because investigators believe she left home willingly.

Police believe Kaylee Stimson is with Warren Harbison, 22 who may not have the best intentions.

News 4’s Kara Kaswell talked with the girl’s mother, Christina Stimson.

Christina and the rest of the family feel that Kaylee climbed out of a basement window, but never planned to be gone this long.

Police say Harbison checked into a Motel Six in Bellfountaine Neighbors around 2:00 a.m. Saturday. This however is the last they’ve tracked him or her.

Kaylee met Harbison, an employee at an Edwardsville Quick Lube Shop through a friend.

The two may be in Harbison’s 1989 gold Honda Accord with an Illinois license plate that reads: G-4-3-8-7-8-8.

Harbison has no criminal history, but police fear both are on the run because they have been gone for three days.

Kaylee left with her dad’s cell phone, and just the clothes on her back.

Police continue looking for Harbison’s car, and have alerted authorities in Mississippi, because he has relatives there.

Kaylee is in the eighth grade at Liberty Middle School in Edwardsville, and her parents and police await some sign that she’s okay.
