Ex Wife Says Punishment Not Enough
A former Washington County man is sentenced to 14 years in prison after failing to pay child support, but his ex-wife said the punishment isn’t enough. Authorities said John Brayshaw owes more than $260,000 in unpaid child support payments during the past 10 years, reported WISN 12 News.
Police arrested him after they found him living on a yacht in Florida.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced him to 14 years in prison, but his ex-wife said she was disappointed with the judge’s decision.
“I know that even though he was sentenced to 14 years he’ll serve probably a quarter of that, perhaps, and then he’ll be released to go out and do what he’s been doing for the past three or four decades,” said Diane Brayshaw. Before the sentencing John Brayshaw read a statement proclaiming his innocence.
