East St. Louis (KMOV) – One person is dead following an early morning accident in which the victim’s car plowed through three power poles before coming to a stop.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on State Street, just west of Highway 111 in East St. Louis.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The car came to rest, upright in a grassy area along the road. The heavy damage to the front and side of the vehicle was the result of hitting the utility poles.
There is no word on what might have caused the crash.
