SANTA FE, Texas—School officials at Santa Fe Junior High confiscated kids’ cell phones after nude images of two female students were forwarded to their classmates.
“It doesn’t need to be anywhere, especially in our schools,” parent Kim Mathews said.
The news came as a shock to both parents and students.
Apparently the girls took the photos themselves and sent them to their boyfriends. The boyfriends then passed them along.
“It’s just really shocking. It’s kind of gross,” student Lauren McDougle said.
Officials started taking up the phones last week. The images were deleted, and the devices were returned.
“I don’t think kids had a mature look at this. This is something that crops up on MySpace or some Web site somewhere down the line,” Superintendent John Whittemore said.
