Police Confirm Bodies Of Missing Woman & Boy Found

A pregnant woman and her four year old cousin who disappeared in missing in 2005 are found dead. Illinois State Police tentatively identified remains discovered behind a home in State Park as Anquiaette Parker and C.J. Toney.

Parker’s father, Gregory, is angry over his daughter’s death. But he says in some ways, he feels relieved.

“It’s closure, you know,” he says. “That’s the most important thing right now because we don’t have to wonder no more.”

Parker says two men who used to live in the home are in custody. Illinois State Police Lt. Mark Bramlett would not confirm or deny that. He said the department would release details about charges at a news conference Friday afternoon.

The remains were found in an underground cistern, behind a home in the 9200 block of Collinsville Road. It is a home investigators had been interested in for a long time.

Parker’s ID was discovered near that spot shortly after she disappeared. Bramlett says police searched the property where the bodies were “ten or 11 times”. He says they even got maps of the property from Madison County.

The cistern “was not on a map, no former property owners knew it was there,” he said. “It was structurally hidden in such a way it would have been very difficult to find.”

The property recently changed hands. A bulldozer was tearing down old structures. Bramlett says investigators told the new property owner if anything was discovered during the tear down process to call them. Around noon Wednesday, the bulldozer operator called.

Parker and Toney were last seen in November 2005. She was baby-sitting the four year old child. Her car was discovered at a VFW hall, near the home in State Park.

Gregory Parker says in a way his prayers have been answered. At least he knows. He says two years of false sitings raised false hope again and again.

“We got calls from all over the world,” he says. “People think they see her in California, all different places.”

Now he has hope that the people who killed his pregnant daughter and a four year old child will pay.

“I think if you take a life, you need to take a life back,” Parker says. “That’s what I believe. Who they gonna harm next? If you can harm a child, or anybody really, I think them guys don’t deserve to live.”
