Ron Paul on CNN Late Edition 5/20/07
WOW. Ron Paul was on CNN’s Late Edition minutes ago, and the truth he speaks is such a breath of fresh air.
He was once again asked the same old questions about how he is suggesting that America “invited †the 9/11 attacks. Paul came back by suggesting that we pay attention to “objective facts†and not make this an issue about him.
He reminded the host of Michael Scheuer, the CIA analyst that totally agrees with Dr. Paul about the root causes of the 9/11 attacks. The host then went on to ask Paul various questions about what he would do as president if wars broke out among other nations. Paul suggested that we should only intervene if there was a definite and critical national security interest and Congress must decide, not the President. He also mentioned the fact that the Constitution requires the Congress to Declare War in order to fight in a war, not just to enforce UN resolutions. He reminded the host that the US should not be out looking for dragons to slay.
Ron Paul insisted “I am the most conservative member of Congress†and that he “supports the Republican Party platform better than ANY other candidate†when the host of Late Edition suggested that Paul should be running for the Democratic or Libertarian party. The host brought up quotes of party officials suggesting that Paul drop out. Paul countered by stating there are 1000 more quotes for every one of those that he should stay in and fight. Paul said “I’m more Republican than they areâ€
This is a true fight for the soul of the Republican Party. It is the traditional party of less Government, and appears to be totally taken over by Neocons, who wish to use the guise of “terrorism†and boogie-men out to get us. He is the only choice if your interested in less taxation and spending, and interested in the United States not getting tangled in the internal affairs of other Nations to our own peril.
