questioning of former Freeburg High School teacher Samson “Sam” Shelton, who is accused of choking a teenage girl and leaving her for dead in the woods for 30 hours.

The newspaper filed for access to the DVDs last week after the videos were shown in court by prosecutors who were seeking to ensure they were played during Shelton’s trial. St. Clair County Circuit Judge Milton Wharton ruled news media should have access to the DVDs.

Wharton further ruled the videos will be shown during Shelton’s trial scheduled for July. Shelton is charged with attempted murder in connection with the attack of Ashley Reeves of Millstadt.
