KSDK - The trial began Monday for Anthony Curtis Moore, a Berkely man who’s accused of murdering his two children.
Witnesses say Moore beat and stomped on his children, forcing them into the mud along the Mississippi River. When police arrived, they found the children partially buried in the mud.
The children, 10-month-old Kanya Anderson and 2-year-old Toni Moore, were dead.
Not long after the discovery of the children, police located Moore, incoherent and covered with mud, in a nearby subdivision where he was living with relatives. His car was still stuck in the mud on the riverbank.
Officers were forced to subdue Moore with a stun gun at the time of his arrest.
Anthony Moore, 28, chose to have a judge hear the trial instead of a jury. He is charged with first-degree murder.
